Swiss and German Films Win at 2017 Ojai Film Festival

At the Award Banquet held during the 18th Ojai Film Festival, a variety of international films took top prizes, showing the wide scope of submissions. From over 400 entries and 80 finalists, many of the directors were in attendance. Attendance this year outpaced previous years with weekday screenings almost tripling in numbers of viewers. All of the special events and award ceremonies were sold out with the screening of Beautifully Broken filling an overflow room.

“We are pleased with the overall quality of film submissions and with the outstanding support from a diverse audience,” said Jon Lambert, the Festival’s president.

Erlking, the Swiss film by Georges Schwizgebel, won Best Animated Film, while Our Wonderful Nature: The Common Chameleon, a German film by Tomer Eshed, won Honorable Mention in the same category.
