A perfect trip? The team of Switzerland Tourisms recommends to take the Jungfrau Railway up to the Jungfraujoch, Europe’s highest railway station and starting point for a 2-day hike on the Aletsch Glacier. After being roped in by the mountain guide, we walk 4 hours downstream on the glacier towards the Concordia Hut, our place for the night. It treats us to more fantastic views, a hearty 3-course meal, and a bunk bed. At dawn, the discovery on the ice continues. With every bend, new alpine peaks like the Matterhorn come into view, until we arrive at Fiescheralp six hours later – just in time for a well-deserved drink.
