When the summer sun sends its’ last rays over the enchanting panorama of romantic Dresden and the city’s sandstone starts to glow in a Mediterranean orange, that is when the legendary summer nights really begin to unfold in Dresden Elbland. A particularly popular event is the “Dresdner Schlössernacht” (Dresden’s Night of the Palaces). For what is already the 10th time, the Dresdener Schlössenacht invites you to stroll between three Elbe palaces, beautifully situated above the vineyards, and enjoy the phenomenal view of the metropolis known as the “Florence of the River Elbe”. Or perhaps delve into a cosmos full of bold and brazen fringe arts in a lively, trendy quarter of the city? In Dresden Elbland everything is possible – go ahead and enjoy a beautiful summer’s night the way you want it!

TIPS

Mild summer nights – what better way to enjoy them than under a beautiful summer sky. The “Filmnächte am Elbufer”(28 June till 26 August) is one of the fabulous events of the Dresden summer, with great cinema and fantastic concerts right on the banks of the River Elbe. With seating for 3,500 people, around 55 screenings and an audience of up to 12,000 when national and international stars come to perform, the Dresden “Filmnächte” is Germany’s largest open-air festival for concerts and cinema. This year the eleven concerts will include stars such as a-ha and Santana. The four concerts with Roland Kaiser – also called “Kaisermania” – have already been sold out for months.
