RTL International, the channel for German ex-patriates and tourists worldwide, will inform viewers live about the run for presidency in the USA during special news shows from a German perspective.
RTL International stands for original German news and entertainment. Germans inform themselves preferably with the market leader RTL Television – and so do German speakers all over the world. In the next few days, they do not only care about German affairs:
In the night from Tuesday, Nov 8th to Wednesday, Nov. 9th, RTL-anchor Peter Kloeppel will report live in a “RTL-Nachtjournal” special about the first U.S. election results. Right at the scene will be RTL reporters Peter Kleim (Election party Hillary Clinton), Carsten Mierke (election party Donald Trump), Dirk Emmerich (Washington) and Christina Endruschat (Times Square, NY). On Wednesday at 04:00 AM (UTC+1), RTL’s morning show ‘Guten Morgen Deutschland’ will start two hours earlier than usual to show all results and reactions. Besides live-relays with their correspondents and reporters not only in the U.S. but also in Berlin, Moskow, London and Paris, RTL will also present their studio guest Christof Lang, who was the head of the RTL studios in NY for six years and will be analyzing and commenting on the election results. Later that day lunchtime journal ‘Punkt 12’, evening news ‘RTL Aktuell’ and nighttime news ‘RTL Nachtjournal’ will cover the election result and their impact on the U.S. and the world.
