Riviera River Cruises announced it recorded its best month for North American bookings since entering the market more than five years ago, buoyed in large part by Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Bookings from Black Friday through Cyber Monday increased a whopping 200 percent compared to 2022. Travelers were motivated by a promotion offering a $500 per person discount on 2024 and 2025 European river cruises of eight days or more. The discount, as well as a FAM cabin incentive, are available through Dec.
“Our record bookings last month are a testament to how well received Riviera has been in this market – even with tremendous competition among river cruise lines,” said Marilyn Conroy, executive vice president sales and marketing North America for Riviera River Cruises. “Positive feedback from our agency partners and returning guests is helping to spread the word about the value we offer. And with our November incentives continuing through this month, travel advisors should encourage their clients to book while they’re still available.”
Riviera’s $500 per person discount is available on many 2024 and 2025 river cruises, including popular itineraries the Blue Danube and the Rhine Cruise to Switzerland. It also applies to exclusive departures for solo travelers as well as new offerings such as 11-day cruises and a new ship and itinerary on the Douro River.
The $500 per person discount is valid on new bookings of 2024 or 2025 departures from eight to 15 days, applied to bookings made through Dec. 31, 2023. The promotion excludes single-occupancy cabins, group bookings and yacht cruises, and it can’t be combined with other offers.
Meanwhile, travel advisors who make two new bookings of eight-day cruises departing in 2025 through Dec. 31, 2023, will earn a free FAM cabin, which is normally $499 per person. Free FAM cabins are available to travel advisors and a companion sharing a standard cabin on any cruise up to eight days in 2024. FAM cabin reservations are made on a space-available basis, with the deck to be determined by Riviera River Cruises up to 90 days before departure. Only one free FAM cabin is permitted per advisor and it can’t be combined with other offers.
