“Germans. Living in Israel” (2011) is a documentary film by Helmut Simon and Martine Schubesberger showing how mostly young Germans live and experience their life in Israel. Were there many obstacles for them to climb? Did they encounter resentments? What is their everyday life like? And what is the perception of Germans in Israel?
Many questions are answered as to why these Germans have chosen this country (for some only temporarily) as their home. Anna and Jan came to study abroad. Tom converted to judaism in Tel Aviv. Noa did the same in Jerusalem. Kerstin was in a long-distance relationship at first and then started a family with her female partner. Ulla, Anette, Thomas, Meike, and Johannes have been living in Israel for many years now, all for different reasons.
There will be a Q&A after the movie.
