Frühstück TV brings German and German-American content right into your living room – not on TV, but on a dedicated website at www.fruhstuck.tv, where you can watch live or get videos “on demand”, all for free, of course. A Sunday morning Talk Show with a focus on German and German-American topics: politics, business, sports, arts and culture, entertainment… plus: regional events and a musical guest every week.
The founder, Lars Halter, launched a Kickstarter project, where you can make a donation in support of Frühstück TV – and get a nice reward. The best thing: Your credit card will only be charged if the entire project gets funded – that means: you are only donating if Frühstück TV get off the ground. That´s a guarantee that your money will not be wasted. You can support the project by following this link:

On the Kickstarter page, you will find a 10 minute promo video for Frühstück TV. Have a look and see what the show is all about. Keep in mind: this is just a promo, filmed on a low budget, with no musical guest and no audience – all that will come later, once we are going live. One thing, however, will not change: the location: Frühstück TV will broadcast live from the Bierhaus NYC.
Frühstück TV wants to establish a show with all the content y
ou might care about. As explained in the video (on the Kickstarter site), the definition of “German-American” includes
- Chancellor Merkel guiding the Euro zone through a crises that impacts America
- President Obama visiting Berlin (June 18)
- 3,500 German companies employing 600,000 Americans all over the US
- Dirk Nowitzki scoring for the Dallas Mavericks
- Berlin actress Antje Traute starring in the new “Superman” movie
- Richard Wagner´s successful “Ring” cycle at the Met
- the proud 300-year-history of German immigration to America
- a vast variety of cultural and social German-American clubs in all 50 US states
- great German-American events like the Steuben Parade in New York and Philadelphia, German Fest in Milwaukee or the legendary Wurstfest in Texas – expect some great reports from there!
You see, the definition of “German-American” topics is wide open. Expect a variety of interesting guests discussing all kinds of current issues. Expect a show that will be informative and entertaining at the same time.
