On the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the invention of the first motorcar by Carl Benz, the German American Heritage Museum (GAHM) in Washington D.C. organized the exhibit “The Star and the Laurel “The Birth of the Automobile” which was opened on April 8, 2011 with a festive reception.
The multimedia exhibition that also honors the other pioneers of the early beginnings of the automotive industry, from Gottlieb Daimler to Wilhelm Maybach and Henry Ford, was made possible by the Daimler Benz AG , Stuttgart.
