USC’s Max Kade Institute for Swiss-Austrian-German Studies hosts acclaimed pianist Michael Schütze from the Dresden Conservatory of Music. Prof. Schütze will give a talk about his musical education growing up in the DDR (East Germany), his professional career in Europe and the United States, and the life of young musicians in today’s Germany. For the musical portion of the evening, he will be joined by acclaimed singers Ariel Pisturino and Gerald Seminatore for a program featuring vocal selections by Franz Lehár, Richard Strauss, Kurt Weill, Hugo Wolf, and others. This is a free concert; no tickets needed.
