Join the Goethe-Institut New York for an evening celebrating translation of German literature as the Helen and Kurt Wolff Translator’s Prize and the Gutekunst Prize of the Friends of Goethe New York are awarded.
The 2018 Helen and Kurt Wolff Prize recipient is Isabel Fargo Cole for her translation of Wolfgang Hilbig’s Old Rendering Plant published by Two Lines Press in 2017.
Nick Andrews will be awarded the Gutekunst Prize of the Friends of Goethe New York for his translation “Selbstbildnis mit Geschirrtuch,” a short story from the book Die Liebe unter Aliens by Terézia Mora (Luchterhand, 2016).
The award ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 10, 2018 at 7 p.m. at the Goethe-Institut New York, 30 Irving Place, New York, NY 10003. German World would like to extend a hearty congratulations to the two 2018 recipients Isabel Fargo Cole and Nick Andrews!
