Germany Reunited

The German lower house of parliament Bundestag is illuminated during celebrations marking the country’s 20th anniversary of reunification in Berlin October 3, 2010. After four decades of division into Soviet-controlled communist German Democratic Republic (GDR) in the east and the Federal Republic of Germany in the west, Germany was officially reunited on October 3, 1990.
