“Das Boot” Turns 30

 

A number of special events will be held across the US this year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Academy Award-nominated epic WWII masterpiece “Das Boot” by director Wolfgang Petersen. Critically acclaimed as one of the best war films of all times, “Das Boot” follows the lives of fearless U-Boat captain Capt.-Lt. Henrich Lehmann-Willenbrock (Jürgen Prochnow) and his inexperienced crew as they become engulfed in the “Battle of the Atlantic” during World War II.
