Andreas Geistlich has been awarded the Special Citation Award by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS). The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Geistlich Pharma was presented the award during the AAOMS 105th Annual Meeting in San Diego, California, according to a statement. The award recognizes individuals for their contributions to the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
The “important award” shows the high relevance of this field of treatment, writes the statement. It reinforces the company’s focus and investment in the field to strengthen the quality of life of patients in the long term.
Founded in 1918, the non-profit professional organization AAOMS is headquartered in Rosemont in the US state of Illinois. The organization has been supported for years by the Geistlich family via the Osteo Science Foundation. The foundation, headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey, was initiated in 2013 by Peter Geistlich with the mission of further innovating the use of regenerative medicine within oral and maxillofacial surgery, and improving patient care.
