The Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to the UN and the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany are offering a position as security officer for local staff starting January 2nd, 2019.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Determine the identity upon arrival of any person asking for access to the German House and
checking the access authorization
• Operating security equipment to check all visitor and guests by use of e.g. hand held metal
detectors, walk-through metal detectors, x-ray baggage screening systems
• Receiving and inspecting deliveries, packages and mail (operating x-ray mail screening
systems) especially observation of plausibility and suspicious characteristics
• Escorting visitors, technicians and guests through the German House
• Assisting the German Federal Police Security Officers in implementing the contingency
plan in case of emergency
• Performing additional security-relevant duties during business hours and evening-events
including events outside the German House
Qualifications and Requirements
• Experience in security services
• Excellent knowledge of English language – German language skills desirable
• Ability to communicate and work in a team
• Organizational skills
• willingness to be flexible as well as take on extra work when necessary,
• US-Citizen or valid work permit for the USA (green card)
