U.S. Vice President Joe Biden visited Germany to hold a speech at the Security Conference in Munich and to meet German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin.
“Germany is an absolutely essential, critical partner”, Biden said in a joint appearance with the chancellor prior to their meeting. After visiting Berlin, Biden held his speech at the 49th Munich Security Conference, and says that “without a strong Europe, close ties to Europe, it is not conceivable how American interests can be met around the world.”
