Since 1994, Christopher Street Day has been regularly held in Zurich to fight against discrimination and for the rights of the LGBT+ community (LGBT+ stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual, plus all other sexual orientations and gender identities).
In 2009, Zurich hosted Europride, which caused Christopher Street Day to be renamed the Zurich Pride Festival.
Every June, the festival site on the Kasernenareal is transformed into a party hotspot, where not only members of the LGBT+ community are welcome – all heterosexuals, too, are explicitly invited to come along and have fun. The highlights of every Zurich Pride Festival are the parade and the concerts by national and international artists on the Kasernenareal.
This year’s festival goes from June 15 – 16. Click here for more information!
