Michael Douglas confessed his love for Austrian actress Senta Berger in a recent interview with US magazine Elle.
The two creative minds met in on set in Israel in 1965, when Michael was his father’s assistant. Michael Douglas mentioned that he wished he could have expressed his feelings and not have been too shy for it.
German Bild Zeitung asked Senta Berger is she remembered the Kirk Douglas’ son and assistant and she revealed: Of course, back then we all flirted with each other and that they toured Israel together and swam in the red sea. She ads: “But there was not more than that! I was very much in love with my future husband Michael Verhoeven.” She married Verhoeven a year later and lost contact with Douglas whom she lost contact with.
Flash forward to January 2010: The two stars run into each other at the Golden Camera awards in Berlin. “We were both thunderstruck,” the Senta Berger said. “I asked him: Do you remember me? He went down on his knees in front of me and said, ‘how could I forget you?’”
