The Hammer Museum will celebrate in Los Angeles on May 19, 2019 the tenth anniversary of K.A.M.P. (Kids Art Museum Project), a one-of-a-kind fundraising event imagined by artists for kids and their families. Painters, sculptors, and artists of all kinds lead inventive hands-on workshops for children, and the event is held outdoors throughout the museum courtyard and terraces. Celebrity friends will read their favorite children’s books to an audience of story lovers of all ages, and DJ Chocolatebarbangs will spin music throughout the event. $125 early-bird tickets are available until March 31, after which tickets will be $150. Over the past ten years, proceeds from K.A.M.P. have raised more than $1.4 million for Hammer Kids, which offers free events to over 60,000 children and families throughout the year.
This year’s participating artists include: Math Bass, Alex Beccera, Louise Bonnet, Carolina Caycedo, Sam Falls, Haas Brothers, John Houck, Alex Israel, Patrick Jackson, Patrick Martinez, Lara Schnitger, Alake Shilling, Samantha Thomas, and Daniel Winter. These artists will translate their practices into projects specially designed for kids, and K.A.M.P. guests will take home artworks ranging from ceramic creatures to paper plane sculptures.
Date and Time: Sunday, May 19, 2019, 10AM-2PM
