Villa Aurora & Thomas Mann House (VATMH) Los Angeles is a non-profit organization in Pacific Palisades. Villa Aurora is an artists residence located in the former home of exiled author Lion Feuchtwanger. The Thomas Mann House is a residence for scholars addressing fundamental issues in politics, society, and culture. The organization promotes intercultural exchange through a variety of interdisciplinary programs and is primarily funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.
Villa Aurora & Thomas Mann House Los Angeles is looking for a Full Time Administrator, starting Nov 1st, 2021
Responsibilities:
• General Administration
• Accounting, including monthly bank reconciliation, year-end financial statements, tax preparation, and reports on expenditure of funds for the VATMH’s Berlin headquarters, the Federal Foreign Office, and other program partners
• Budget Planning
• Payment and cash management
• Preparation of contracts
• Office organization
• Assistance with management and maintenance of the two properties
• Assistance with preparing and executing events
• Administrative support for Villa Aurora residencies and Thomas Mann House fellowships
Requirements:
• Valid Work Permit for the USA
• Native level command of English and German
• Proficiency in MS-Office Software (especially Excel)
• Excellent organizational skills
• Proficiency in Quickbooks a plus
• Knowledge of procurement directives and financial reporting requirements of Villa Aurora & Thomas Mann House and the German Federal Foreign Office or willingness to acquire this knowledge
• Vaccination against COVID-19
Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience in accordance with the compensation table for the Goethe-Institut in the United States. Compensation includes a contribution to employee’s health insurance policy and an Individual Retirement Account.
