According to Bloomberg News referring to a research note by New York-based analyst Craig Moffett of Sanford C. Bernstein, T-Mobile USA Inc., the nation’s fourth-largest wireless carrier, could use parent Deutsche Telekom AG’s sales agreement with Apple Inc. to finally sell iPhones to US customers in 2013.
So far, the iPhone has not been available to US customers with a T-Mobile contract and the carrier has lost 510,100 monthly subscribers in the first quarter of 2012 while rivals AT &T Inc. and Verizon together signed up about 688,000 so-called post-paid customers, the report states. More than half of the smartphones sold at AT&T and Verizon in the first quarter were iPhones according to Moffett.
