Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier was in Washington, DC, on July 20 and 21 to take part in two vital international meetings: an Iraq donor conference and a meeting of the anti-ISIL coalition.
As co-host of the donor conference with the United States, Canada, Japan, the Netherlands and Kuwait, Foreign Minister Steinmeier pledged a German contribution of 160 million euros to stabilize Iraq. This money is in addition to the significant humanitarian aid and other funds for stabilization that Germany already contributes in Iraq.
