At the Goethe-Institut, Annette Rupp was succeeded in March by Mr. Fareed Majari as new director at the Goethe-Institut L.A.
Then in May the program department also experienced a change in personnel. Margit Kleinman, who has worked here as the program coordinator since 1987, accepted a new professional challenge to become the new director of the Villa Aurora.
Kleinman was born and raised in Swabian Gmuend, Southern Germany. She studied German and French literature and linguistics in Wuerzburg, Paris and Tuebingen, where she graduated with a master’s degree. Margit taught high school and junior college in Germany until 1987, when she moved to LA with her husband Joel and their children.
Margit Kleinman is looking forward to her new position at Villa Aurora and has great ideas for creating broader awareness of this cultural gem in Pacific Palisades.
The first big event will be a fundraising garden party on
August 25.
