The title “Thinking Structure” refers to the architectural space as well as to the function of the research institute that the artists are responding to in the selection or even production of art work for this show. All six artists Kirk Stoller, Linda Geary, Sabine Reckewell, Ann-Marie Stöhr, Andy Vogt and Ulrike Palmbach tackle the idea of structure in different ways. They enter not only an exchange with the architectural space of I.M. Pei and each other, but also wish to engage in a dialogue between the scientific community and the art community as well.
During the opening on Saturday October 27th, from 3-5pm, there will be a panel discussion with Eric Verdin, president of Buck Institute, and artists Kirk Stoller, Linda Geary, Sabine Reckewell, Ann-Marie Stöhr, Andy Vogt and Ulrike Palmbach.
