FL: German Christkindlmarkt at German American Social Club of Cape Coral, Dec. 9+10, 2023

Oktoberfest was such a success, bringing in huge happy crowds to the grounds of the German American Social Club on Pine Island Road in Cape Coral. After the Hurricane Ian shutdown, the community came together to celebrate together German style. The Club was more than happy to open its gates once again. And the fun continues – the next festival is fast approaching! It’s time for the Christkindlmarkt – the German Christmas Market! This year, held on Saturday, December 9^th and 10^th from 12 to 8, Christmas spirit with St. Nikolaus and Old Saint Nick awaits in anticipation of the holidays. The event is free to the Southwest Florida community, including free parking. The festivities will include German tradition, a model train setup depicting a true-to-original German landscape, music, carol singers, crafts, and fun for the entire family!

The club is teaming up with vendors from the community and local crafts makers as well as their in-house GALS crafts to offer something truly magical to the Southwest Florida community! Music will be provided by the club’s very own Hafenkapelle, Edelweiss Chorus, and Manni Daum.

Delicious aromas will fill the air with food options ranging from brats, Leberkäse, schnitzel, potato pancakes, and Apfelstrudel, plus an assortment of German Christmas goodies.
Enjoy some great German beers, a cup of Glühwein (mulled wine), some great food, and holiday cheer! It will be a weekend of fun with friends and family, including fun, crafts, and games for children at the Kinderclub corner.

The German American Social Club is buzzing with excitement now while preparing for these festive activities. And with typical German Gemütlichkeit, of course, the Southwest Florida community is more than welcome to join in the Christmas cheer – German Style!
