The conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan about the region Nagorno-Karabkh is a very old and sad issue. But almost 1 year ago the world saw how quickly a frozen conflict can turn into a war.
On September 2020, in the middle of the worst time during the Coronavirus pandemic, the world was shocked to see Armenia get attacked from Azerbaijan in the region of Nagorno-Karabkh (Artsakh). For the first time the international attention was on this region, several publisher, media and press were present so as Paul Rohnzheimer (Berlin, BZ) but one person acted beyond: Recognizing the significant amount of disinformation emerging from the war and lack of world news coverage, Former British Royal Marines Commando Emile Ghessen, traveled to the region extended his stay to see firsthand what was going on.
The war lasted 44 days and on the 45th day, a trilateral peace agreement was signed, ending hostilities between Armenia and Azerbaijan. With thousands of men killed and thousands of people being displaced from their homes, Armenia lost majority of the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. The raw unseen footage of “45 Days: The Fight For A Nation” directed by Emile himself, produced by Asko Akopyan and edited by A. J. Rickert-Epstein tells the true story of the war and an humanization feature documentary film which will have his grant premiere in Los Angeles.
